“Start digging the well because the fire
has started,” is a loosely translated vernacular proverb. It means, instead of
planning early enough to be ready for any un-to-ward incident, people start to
plan and work after an un-to-ward incident happens. So, true! The Supreme Court
of India rapped the commission on Delhi air quality for the same reason. Winter
has not even started, and the air quality in Delhi has started to deteriorate.
If proactive action is not initiated, things will only go from bad to worse as
stubble burning during winter will only make the matter worst.
In the sketch, folks sleep and take rest
even as the city grapples with pollution.
The smoke cloud is growing to an extent that a divine intervention is
required to hopefully get people to act!
